RANGER S&D Pet Doors
The quality standards for RANGER Pet Doors are exceedingly high. Our quality inspectors expect products to be essentially perfect, so even relatively minor aesthetic flaws like a small scratch can make a pet door fail its final quality assessment.
What is a "scratch and dent" door?
Pet doors that pass all of the functional tests (airtight seal, etc.) but fail due to a minor aesthetic flaw are sometimes made available as a "scratch and dent" door.
These doors work perfectly, and generally have a fairly substantial discount. Like new pet doors, scratch and dent doors are eligible for our 30-day return policy and carry our Lifetime Support guarantee. For scratch and dent doors, the warranty coverage is limited to functional problems associated with material or manufacturing defects.
What imperfections will a scratch and dent door have?
A "scratch and dent" pet door may have one or several of the following flaws:
- Scratch on the flap system and/or frame
- Discoloration on flap system and/or frame
- Bend or fold on the flap
- Gouge or slice on the frame and/or locking panel
- Other, random visual imperfections

These flaws are typically minor, and they're rarely worse than what normal wear and tear would impart over the course of weeks or months.

Unfortunately, pictures of any individual S&D door and/or its imperfections are not available.
If you're concerned that an aesthetic defect may not be acceptable, we recommend buying one of our standard doors, which is guaranteed to be perfect.
