Do RANGER Pet Doors Work for Hot Weather?
Short Answer
Yes! RANGER cat and dog doors work great for extreme weather of all kinds. The airtight and insulated flap system works just as well when the temperatures are super hot outside as when they're super cold. In either case, your home will stay comfortable and save energy.
Slightly Longer Answer
In both the case of hot air outside and cold air outside, the bulk of the energy savings comes from the airtight seal blocking drafts. With most pet doors, 90% of energy loss is due to drafts leaking outside air into your home (hot or cold air). Our airtight DoubleMag seal ensures that you blocks out hot outdoor air just as well as it does freezing outdoor air.
Similarly, the insulated flap works just as well as a thermal barrier against hot outdoor temps as it does cold outdoor temps.
